Working as a branch manager at one of the leading sanitary fittings stores in Denver, I know all about bathroom fittings. Although I’m an MBA and got the post as a manager on the same degree, after five years at the store, I can confidently say that I know more about bathroom fittings than I do about Business Administration!
There are some things that you learn after spending day in and day out in a store surrounded by bathroom accessories. Which bathroom tub is going to be the safest for my five years old daughter and which shower would go well with the existing fittings are some of the things you can tell just by looking at them.
Although I still have my day job at the store, researching bathroom fittings and accessories is something I do as a hobby. My family, especially my daughter, Sophia, is especially fond of my hobby and has the same question every weekend, “Daddy, will I find anything new in my bathroom today?” She knows it’s on Sundays that her Daddy has some free time and will have something new to fit into one of the bathrooms of the house.
So whenever I install a new faucet, a shower or redo the tiles, the feedbacks start coming in. Each member of the family has something to say, whether positive or negative and I take their opinion very seriously to be sure to get them something even better next time.
A few months back, I decided to renovate the entire master bathroom. I had been planning it for a long time and was just waiting for the right time to execute it. It came when my wife and kids were out of town for a wedding. I took the opportunity and changed the entire outlook of the bathroom. Light blue tiles with a textured white border, Moen faucet, and a brand new bathtub gave it a whole new look to surprise my family.
I had plenty of knowledge on bathroom accessories already, before starting with the project. Nevertheless, I skimmed through tons of magazines, read countless customer reviews and researched a bunch of sanitary stores before picking out the products that would suit my bathroom. The next project, as expected, would be the children’s bathroom since they’re not very happy with their existing one now that I have had mine renovated.
So anyway, after working five years at the sanitary store and having changed the bathroom fittings in my house countless times during that time, I think it would only be fair to spread out the knowledge. What I want is to help everyone gain the same level of expertise in the field, especially those who are planning on renovating their bathroom either completely, or partly.
